Watch: Tatran – “The Climb”

Israeli jazz/post-rock outfit Tatran recently organised an album release show for their latest record No Sides, and now they are gracing us with video material of the performance, which took place in Tel Aviv this summer. The song, called The Climb, is the first track on their second studio record, and the video offers a colourful insight into what this band is all about.

The video is recorded in the historic Beit Romano building complex, which is situated in the bohemian quarter of Tel Aviv called Florentin. Next to hosting a restaurant headed by famous Tel Aviv chef Eyal Shani, it also includes the headquarters of TEDER.FM. The web radio-turned-media agglomerate regularly hosts concerts in the courtyard, creating a “unique interaction between artists and the crowd, [amidst] Tel Aviv summer vibes, creating a one-of-a-kind experience.” This special atmosphere is definitely extended to the viewer of the video, which shows Tatran in an environment that seems only natural for them—the stage.

The Climb starts as a meticulously built-up portrait of a carefree day, after which guitarist Tamuz Dekel erupts in a blistering solo that tears apart the aforementioned picture, infusing it with new meaning. Next to The Climb, the band also recorded videos for two songs from their previous record, which you can find on their YouTube channel.

No Sides was released on June 2 this year and can be bought in digital, CD or vinyl formats through the Tatran Bandcamp page.
