10 Songs To Convince You That Ambient Is Not Boring

Ambient might appear to many people as dull music which is based on a single sound that changes a bit over a 10-minute track. However there are many artists who discovered that ambient is a very flexible genre, a platform for endless experiments. These ten songs are not only among my favorites, but are also made by fascinating experimental composers whose music often reaches far beyond the borders of the genre.

Tim Hecker – Amps, Drugs, Mellotron

Fennesz – The Liar

Christopher Bissonnette – Entanglements

Philip Jeck – Pilot/Dark Blue Night

The Fun Years – Side A

Marsen Jules – La Digitale Pourpre

Stephan Mathieu – Maison

Mika Vainio – Magnetia

Jefre Cantu-Ledesma – White Dwarf Butterfly

Loscil – Heptane
