Due to be released on June 9, The Optimist is Anathema’s eleventh full-length studio recording. The album, which is inspired by the cover art of the band’s 2001 outing A Fine Day to Exit, is a continuation of the sentiments expressed on the aforementioned record, but this time it revolves around a fictional character, rather than the band’s own experiences.
