Alejandro Rose-Garcia, also known as Shakey Graves, released a new album And The War Came in early October this year. He debuted in 2011 as a one-man band and successfully proved the effects of ‘word of mouth’ marketing. With increasing attention, Shakey Graves continued with a recognizable alt-country sound, including a drummer on the new release.
You can hear some blues and rock‘n’roll influence in The Perfect Parts, a song he originally wrote in high school but evolved during the years. Commenting on this song, he said to Wall Street Journal: “I was spending a lot of time ogling a certain lady in my home town and I felt very led on. In reality I doubt she had any idea that I was pining so hard. We explored the concept of being trapped in your home town and the concept of growing out of a situation.”
