Sea in the Sky are a progressive metal/fusion act from Redwood, California. Last year they released an eponymous EP, but now it’s time for the real deal: a full-length album called “Serenity”. The first song on the album, “Tamagotchi”, is a little piece of ear candy consisting of video game melodies and groovy rhythms. The energy is very similar to the split EP “I” released last year by solo artists Plini and Sithu Aye. The benefit of “Sea in the Sky” being a band are definitely present, for example in the song’s stellar bass riffing.
“Serenity” is due out December 27th.
