Listen: Fjeld – “Wave It Off”

For some, spring is just around the corner. For others, it has already come, and for even different people, reading this only causes them to start yammering, asking themselves why they were born in such a godforsaken place in the north, longing for their few weeks of summer. In any case, those of you who are lucky enough to be able to look forward to the coming of spring should save this song for the day you’re on your doorstep with your coat on, only to decide to leave it at home because finally, the sun is out. Or for when you’re on the verge of hypothermia and need some warm feelings inside to get out of bed, of course.

Ironically hailing from Rauma, Finland, the boys in Fjeld wrote a spring hit and let it loose on the world on the 9th of March 2015. With its both explosively upbeat and humming, quiet opening, the track instantaneously causes a spontaneous combustion of good feels. Combining the poppy chord progressions and climactic choir finale with your coatless stroll through town and the occasional butterfly, “Wave It Off” is guaranteed to kick start the season like few other songs will.

In case you’re left wanting more after replaying it countless times, their first full-length record is still in the works. A single EP is available on their bandcamp page though. Hopefully that will cut it until the release of their debut album, which they’re hoping to do later this year.
