Today, we have the pleasure of sharing with you an exclusive early stream of Terraformer’s ferocious new album Mineral, which is officially out tomorrow on dunk!records.
Mineral is the third record by Terraformer to be released on dunk!records after the sea shaper (2012) and Creatures (2014). As early as October last year, the label took the courtesy of premiering the first single Adamantine on their dunk!podcast #2, and last week they released a video for Aegean, made by Belgian video artist Jeroen Cluckers. Now, you can check out an exclusive stream of the full album via Arctic Drones below.
The band are as heavy and percussive as always, so longtime fans of the band will not be disappointed. For the lovers of that beautiful melodic side of Creatures, the band have still retained their sense for the melodic, and both qualities (heavy and beautiful) add up to a complex array of sounds and textures. Mineral is an instrumental space opera that artfully intermarries imagery from astronomy, geology and Greek mythology, letting go of the Celtic and fantasy aspects of Creatures but still retaining the excellent post-metal sound that the band is known for.
