Exclusive Premiere: Lights & Motion – The Spectacular Quiet

January 13 will see the release of “Chronicle”, the third full-length album by Lights & Motion, and Arctic Drones magazine is pleased to have the exclusive premiere of the video for one of its previously unheard songs, “The Spectacular Quiet”.

Lights & Motion

Lights & Motion is the musical brainchild of Christoffer Franzén, a multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter from Gothenburg, Sweden. “The Spectacular Quiet” comes from Lights and Motion's new 9-track album “Chronicle”, a direct follow-up from his critically acclaimed 2013 releases, “Reanimation” and “Save Your Heart”.

The clip, created by We The Conspirators and directed by Fraser West, is based on the story of an astronaut experiencing flashbacks and feelings that took place during his mission as he heads back home to Earth. Watch below!

On the release of “The Spectacular Quiet”, Lights & Motion said:

The goal with my new album, Chronicle, was to take the listener on a emotional journey that ebbs and flows, and to try and create a very panoramic/widescreen experience, both sonically and compositionally. Out of all the tracks on the record, ”The Spectacular Quiet” might encapsulate this approach the best. It is a very cinematic song, relying heavily on strings and brass to carry it forwards and upwards, as it keeps on building towards an explosion. While writing it, I internally made up movies to play along to, and this helped me get the song to where I wanted it to land. It is then such a treat to be able to work with incredibly talented filmmakers in true collaboration, across country limits, and to see them visually mirror what I tried to bring across sonically. And it just looks spectacular.

“Chronicle” comes out January 13th worldwide on Deep Elm Records and is currently available for pre-order on Bandcamp and Itunes.
